Kelty Jogging Strollers Recalled

February 24, 2012 0 Comments

According to the U.S. consumer Product Safety Commission, consumers should stop using recalled Kelty jogging strollers. The Kelty Speedster Swivel Deluxe single jogging strollers and Swivel Deuce double jogging strollers have a front wheel that can come loose during use and cause the stroller to tip over, posing a fall and injury hazard to children in the stroller and adults pushing the stroller. There have been three reported incidents with these recalled strollers. Some of the injuries included cuts, scrapes and fractured bones to adults, and minor cuts and scrapes to children. Kelty, of Boulder, Colorado, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled about 3,000 units. These strollers were sold nationwide and online from January 2010 through February 2012 for between $375 and $475.

It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately and contact Kelty to receive free updated assembly and maintenance instructions. To insure the safety of infant and toddler products, including strollers, most companies should maintain a registration card program. When you purchase a stroller or other durable infant or toddler product, complete the registration if you have the option of doing so with a postage-paid registration form or the internet. This way the manufacturer can more efficiently notify you of any recalls and help you prevent serious injuries.
